BAZETTA — Tina M. Roberts, 35, of Cortland, was killed early Sunday when she fell out of a car she was riding in and was run over by another vehicle.

Roberts was riding in a car being driven by her husband, Richard L. Roberts, 38, of Cortland, at 12:14 a.m., when the accident occurred.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that Richard Roberts was driving a 2002 Chevy Tahoe and turning left from a stop sign at McCleary Jacoby Road onto state Route 305 when Tina Roberts fell from the vehicle into the eastbound lane of Route 305.

A vehicle being driven by Brian E. Baxter, 43, of Burghill, was traveling east on Route 305 and struck Tina Roberts, the OSP said. She was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

Vehicle involved in
shooting found on fire

YOUNGSTOWN — Police found a fire-damaged car that had been involved in a shooting Saturday night on the East Side, but no suspects have been arrested.

Police responded to the corner of Shehy Street and Lincoln Park Drive, where a woman reported that four men pulled up beside her vehicle about 8 p.m. and fired shots into her car. Passengers in the car, age 16, 15 and 14, all received minor injuries as a result of the flying glass from the four gunshots, police said.

The car from which the shooting occurred was a blue Buick with Pennsylvania license plates. The victim said the gunshots came from one of the three passengers in the car. The Buick was located on fire a short time later a short distance away at Hickory Street and North Blaine Avenue, and the fire was extinguished.

Warren man faces
assault charges

WARREN — Charles Mallory, 45, of Deerfield Avenue Southwest, was charged with felonious assault Saturday after family members reported that he had tried several times to strike them with a piece of wood.

Warren police responded to the call about 6 p.m. Mallory was transported to the Trumbull County Jail, where he awaits a preliminary hearing.

Boardman Christmas

BOARDMAN — Boardman Township Park is hosting the 11th Annual Boardman Community Christmas from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

Santa in Coitsville

COITSVILLE — Santa Claus is coming to town for the third annual Coitsville Township Christmas tree-lighting ceremony Dec. 6.

The event will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the town hall, 3711 McCartney Road.
