Hours and dates for deer gun hunting in Ohio: Today through Sunday and Dec. 15 and 16 from one-half hour before sunrise to sunset.

Pre-season deer population estimate: 675,000 white-tailed deer.

Number expected to be taken during the 9-day season: 115,000 to 120,000.

Number of hunters expected statewide: about 400,000.
