NEWARK, N.J. — D.J. Augustin scored 23 points, A.J. Abrams had 21 and No. 15 Texas shot 64 percent from the field in routing No. 7 Tennessee in the championship game of the StubHub! Legends Classic. Connor Atchley added a career-high 22 points and 11 rebounds, Justin Mason had 21 points and the Longhorns (5-0) continued to show they are going to be a force even with Kevin Durant now playing in the NBA. Chris Lofton had 18 points to lead Tennessee (5-1), which was limited to 39 percent shooting from the field. JaJuan Smith added 13 and Tyler Smith had 11. This was supposed to be the biggest test for Rick Barnes’ young team, which starts three sophomores and two juniors. Tennessee (5-1) was undefeated, had Lofton, the preseason All America at guard, and was coming off an impressive win over West Virginia the night before at the new Prudential Center.

No. 6 Louisville 64, Old Dominion 53

LAS VEGAS — Terrence Williams scored 20 points, Derrick Caracter added 13 and Louisville rebounded from its first loss of the season with a victory over Old Dominion in the Las Vegas Invitational. Earl Clark had 11 points and 15 rebounds for the Cardinals (4-1). Gerald Lee scored a career-high 20 points for the Monarchs. Brian Henderson added 14 points on a poor shooting night as Old Dominion kept it close until Louisville closed with a 14-5 run over the final 41⁄2 minutes.

No. 9 Washington State 71, MVSU 26

SPOKANE, Wash. — Caleb Forrest scored a career-high 13 points and Washington State beat Mississippi Valley State in the Cougar Hispanic College Fund Challenge. Kyle Weaver added 13 points and Aron Baynes grabbed nine rebounds as Washington State (5-0) dominated the shorter Delta Devils from the opening buzzer. Carl Lucas, at 6-foot-5 one of MVSU’s tallest players, scored 18 points to lead the Delta Devils (0-6). Washington State has held four of its five opponents under 55 points this season.

No. 10 Michigan St. 75, Oakland 71

EAST LANSING, Mich. — Goran Suton had a career-high 20 rebounds and scored 15 points and Raymar Morgan added 20 points to help Michigan State beat Oakland. The Spartans (4-1) trailed 25-18 with 5:47 left in the first half before using a 15-2 run to take a 33-27 edge at the break. Brandon Cassise led Oakland (2-3) with 20 points, including five 3-point baskets. Derick Nelson added 19 points and nine rebounds.

No. 24 Clemson 96, Gardner-Webb 67

CLEMSON, S.C. — Cliff Hammonds had 16 points and seven rebounds and Clemson handed Gardner-Webb its worst loss of the young season. Terrence Oglesby scored 15 points, making three of four 3-pointers, and Trevor Booker also had 15 for the Tigers (5-0), who shot 57.9 percent (11-of-19) behind the arc. Nate Blank led Gardner-Webb (4-4) with 16 points, and Thomas Sanders added 15 points and six rebounds.
