Cortland woman dies after being hit by vehicle


BAZETTA — Tina M. Roberts, 35, of Cortland, was killed early Sunday when she fell out of a car she was riding in and was run over by another vehicle.

Roberts was riding in a car being driven by her husband, Richard L. Roberts, 38, of Cortland, at 12:14 a.m., when the accident occurred.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that Richard Roberts was driving a 2002 Chevy Tahoe and turning left from a stop sign at McCleary Jacoby Road onto state Route 305 when Tina Roberts fell from the vehicle into the eastbound lane of Route 305.

A vehicle being driven by Brian E. Baxter, 43, of Burghill, was traveling east on Route 305 and struck Roberts, the OSP said. She was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center, where she was pronunced dead.

The accident remains under investigation.
