‘Winter Celebration’ to be held at Fellows Riverside Gardens

YOUNGSTOWN — Mill Creek MetroParks presents “Winter Celebration — Holidays in the Valley” at Fellows Riverside Gardens from Dec. 1 through Dec. 31.

Holiday trees decorated by 30 local organizations showcase the unique and diverse character of the Valley.

Support for the monthlong holiday show is provided by Professional Risk Management of Boardman and Friends of Riverside Gardens.

Other highlights include festive floral arrangements, a grand poinsettia tree and the children’s Night City activity room featuring buildings of downtown Youngstown.

Gardens by Candlelight is planned again this year as part of the holiday festivities. From 5:30 to 8 p.m. Dec. 9, families can enjoy a candlelit walk through the gardens along with refreshments and holiday music. Strollers cannot be accommodated, and reservations aren’t required.

Visitors are asked to bring a nonperishable food item to donate to the Second Harvest Food Bank.
