Jon Pasko of Poland has been named a member of the Mathematical Association of America. The 2204 graduate of Poland Seminary High School is the son of Gerald and Charlene Pasko and is majoring in accounting.

Valentina Gheorghe, daughter of Constantin and Rodica Gheorghe of Canfield, is a member of Tuffy’s Troops at Ashland. Tuffy’s Troops is a student organization dedicated to increasing school spirit and attendance at AU athletic events.

BALDWIN WALLACE COLLEGE, Berea, Ohio

Jamie Serenko, daughter of Gene and Laurie Serenko of Boardman, participated in the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Ohio’s Student Lobby Day. She was one of some 50 college students to meet with legislators to discuss legislation involving higher education in Ohio. Serenko is a junior majoring in biology and pre-medicine. She is the student body vice president, United Way student assistant, a Center for Innovation and Growth Student Fellow and a member of the Baldwin Wallace Strategic Planning Committee. She is a 2005 graduate of Boardman High School.

WESTMINSTER COLLEGE, New WIlmington, Pa.

Diana Conzett was given a grant from the Westminster College Drinko Center and the Heritage Chair in the Humanities to present her research at the Sylvia Plath 75th Year Symposium in Oxford, England, in October. Conzett, a senior English major, is a daughter of David and Kimberly Conzett of Hubbard and a graduate of Hubbard High School. She presented her paper, “Creative Creatures,” at the conference. Plath was a noted poet and author.
