“Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade” (9 a.m., NBC): It wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. This year, the beloved holiday tradition celebrates its 80th anniversary with all the pomp and pageantry that implies. Just show us the humongous SpongeBob SquarePants balloon and we’ll go away happy.

“MLE Chowdown: The Turkey Bowl” (11 a.m. and 7 p.m., Spike TV): So you think you’re going to stuff your face today? Check out Kobayashi and Joey Chesnut in the “MLE Chowdown: The Turkey Bowl.” The two giants of competitive eating look to gobble down an entire 20-pound turkey in eight minutes as they battle it out with six other professional gluttons.

“Cool Tools” (8 p.m., DIY Network): Feel your love for practical gadgets on “Cool Tools,” a new DIY Network series focusing on home improvement tools you may or may not know about, but will probably want when you discover them. You’ll learn about gloves that help you see in the dark, tape measures you can write on, and mowers that seem bred from a race car. Each episode also takes you on factory visits to see how some of the coolest tools are made. The series launches tonight with a full evening of “Cool Tools:” four half-hour editions starting at 8., followed by a one-hour special, “Cool Tools: The Hardware Show,” at 10.
