CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Tyler Hansbrough scored 26 points and Wayne Ellington added 19 to help North Carolina beat South Carolina State. Danny Green had 15 points for the Tar Heels (3-0), who earned their second straight blowout win in the Las Vegas Invitational. North Carolina next faces Old Dominion in Las Vegas, beginning an extended road trip that will keep them away from home for nearly a month. Everett Spencer scored 12 points to lead the Bulldogs (0-4), who managed an early 8-4 lead before being overwhelmed by North Carolina’s size and athleticism.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Willie Kemp scored a career-high 22 points, including 6-for-8 from 3-point range, and Doneal Mack added 19 to lead Memphis over Arkansas State. Chris Douglas-Roberts added 16 points for Memphis (5-0), which has won all of its games by double-digit margins. Adrian Banks led the Indians (0-3) with 32 points, one short of his career high, and provided the most consistent offensive threat for Arkansas State.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — JaJuan Smith scored 26 of his career-high 32 points in the first half and Chris Lofton added 17 points to help Tennessee beat Middle Tennessee. Ramar Smith had 12 points and Tyler Smith added 11 for the Volunteers (4-0), who snapped the Blue Raiders’ streak of 216 consecutive games without allowing 100 points. Kevin Kanaskie had nine points and Nigel Johnson added seven for Middle Tennessee (1-3).

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Eric Gordon scored 30 points and Armon Bassett added 19 to help Indiana beat North Carolina-Wilmington. Indiana (3-0) flirted with the 100-point mark for the third straight game and probably would have hit triple digits in back-to-back games if coach Kelvin Sampson hadn’t pulled his starters early. The Hoosiers haven’t scored 100 points in consecutive games since November 2005 and have won 20 straight home games. Todd Hendley scored 20 points and Chad Tomko added 17 for North Carolina-Wilmington (1-2).

LAHAINA, Hawaii — Marquette defended and hustled its way into the championship game of the EA Sports Maui Invitational. Jerel McNeal had 20 points and Dominic James added 18 to lead the Golden Eagles in a never-in-doubt semifinal victory over Oklahoma State. Terrel Harris had 17 points and freshman James Anderson added 14 for the Cowboys (2-2). Marquette (4-0) will go for the title tonight.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Sean Singletary had 24 points, seven rebounds and five assists and Virginia returned to John Paul Jones Arena after an impressive trip out West with a victory against Drexel. The Cavaliers (4-0) led 31-25 at halftime and used a 10-2 run in the second half to stretch their lead to double digits. Mamadi Diane capped the burst with a 3-pointer and the Cavaliers gradually stretched their advantage to 18 in the second half. Diane, Adrian Joseph and Calvin Baker each added 11 points for the Cavaliers. Frank Elegar led Drexel (3-1) with 23 points and Tramayne Hawthorne had 10.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida’s first game as a ranked team this season was a mismatch. Marreese Speights had 20 points and 12 rebounds, Walter Hodge added 14 points and the Gators overwhelmed North Florida. The two-time defending national champions extended their winning streak to 15 games and pushed their home winning streak to 24. Florida (5-0) was bigger, stronger, faster and more talented at nearly every position against the Ospreys (1-4).
