“Ben 10: Race Against Time” (8 p.m., Cartoon Network): “Ben 10: Race Against Time” takes the cartoon out of the Cartoon Network. The live-action movie stars Graham Phillips (“Evan Almighty”) as Ben Tennyson, a kid who can dial up super powers. It’s based on the Cartoon Network’s hit animated series “Ben 10.” Ben is just an ordinary Joe at school. But thanks to an intergalactic gadget he wears on his wrist, he can transform into an array of super-powered alien forms. He keeps this double life a secret, for the most part. Only his grandfather and cousin know of his super heroics.

“America’s Next Top Model” (8 p.m., The CW): Tyra and the gals head to China for the latest installment of “America’s Next Top Model.” Once there, they dabble in some martial arts and are challenged to pose on high wires. Bet they miss the comfort of the runway already.

“The Rise of the Video Game” (8 p.m., Discovery Channel): Long before the coming of “Halo 3,” there was “Pong” and your parents really dug it. “The Rise of the Video Game” is a new five-part documentary series that traces the history of the medium from its crude beginnings to the mind-blowing, eye-popping phenomenon of today.

“Great Performances” (10 p.m. PBS): A new season of PBS’ “Great Performances” begins as Daniel Barenboim, Pinchas Zukerman and Zubin Mehta lead a special birthday gathering. It’s “The Israel Philharmonic 70th Anniversary Gala Concert,” with music including the Bruch Violin Concerto No. 1 and Brahms’ first great orchestral work, the D-minor Piano Concerto No. 1. The concert was recorded in Tel Aviv last December and premieres Wednesday at 10 p.m., marking another milestone: the start of “Great Performances’” 35th year.
