Oil well fire investigated

BELOIT — Fire officials are trying to determine what caused a fire that led to the explosion of an oil well storage tank at an oil well site off Beloit-Snodes Road between state Route 14 and Middletown Road around 2:30 p.m. Monday.

Firefighters were able to keep the flames from spreading to two other nearby storage tanks. Authorities didn’t have the name of the well owner. No injuries were reported.
