YSU business team advances to national competition

YOUNGSTOWN — The Students in Free Enterprise team from Youngstown State University’s Williamson College of Business Administration placed first at the “Duel in the Keystone State” regional competition Nov. 8-10 at St. Francis University in Pennsylvania.

The four–student team competed against teams from six other universities and will advance to the “Duel in the Desert” national competition March 6-9 at the University of Arizona. The national competition will include 16 teams from across the country.

YSU team members are: Marcus Oakley of Youngstown, accounting; Dan Martins of Boardman, business management; Tara Thomas of Warren, accounting/finance; and Rose Shaffer of Austintown, marketing management major.
