Teens reportedly force way into woman’s home

YOUNGSTOWN — Two teenagers forced their way into a Redondo Road home Saturday afternoon, stuck a gun to the homeowner’s head and demanded money.

The woman, 57, told police that she was on the phone about noon and heard a knock at the door of her North Side home. She didn’t look to see who it was before answering the door, and when she unlocked it and began to open it, the two boys forced the door open, throwing her backward.

She told police they put a gun to her head and demanded money. She said she had none and ran for the rear of the house, hoping her dog would come from the garage area and scare the intruders.

She fled to a neighbor’s house and called police. When the woman’s husband returned home, he discovered that the couple’s two cars — a 2001 Mitsubishi Gallant and a 2004 Honda Accord — had been stolen.

An off-duty tow truck driver spotted the Mitsubishi about 10 minutes later at Fifth and Fairgreen avenues.
