Suspect interviewed in Warren slaying

WARREN — Police have interviewed a suspect and have worked throughout the weekend to investigate the shooting death of a 26-year-old man found inside a Tod Avenue Northwest home Friday.

Police responded to a call of a man not breathing at 3:54 p.m. at 959 Tod Avenue. His identity will be released today, Capt. Joe O’Grady said.

The Trumbull County Coroner’s Office ruled the man dead at the scene.

The home at 959 Tod is two doors south of Nowhere Antiques & Toys at the corner of Tod Avenue and Summit Street. It is a two-story wood-frame house.

On Sunday afternoon, only one nearby resident answered when a Vindicator reporter knocked on doors. A man and woman several houses down on the other side of the street said they had lived there only a couple of months and didn’t know much about the neighborhood.

It is the city’s 10th homicide of the year. Warren recorded five homicides in 2006.
