He is a member of the Western Reserve Council, Whispering Pines District, Boy Scouts of America Troop 46 that meets at Boardman United Methodist Church with Eric Grabman as Scoutmaster.

Evans joined Troop 46 in April 2003 after receiving the Arrow of Light, the highest rank a Cub Scout can achieve, from Cub Scout Pack 114 of Boardman. Since then he has earned 36 merit badges.

His Eagle Scout service project was to design and construct two stand-up, wheelchair-accessible mobile gardening carts for the residents of Park Vista Retirement Community. The carts were presented to Park Vista at a ceremony in June. One cart will be used by the occupational therapists in treatment activities. The other will be used in the health care center for the residents to enjoy.

Evans has held numerous positions in the troop including den chief, assistant patrol leader, patrol leader, assistant senior patrol leader, senior patrol leader, and he is now serving as junior assistant scout master.

He is a sophomore at Canfield High School, where he is a member of the speech and debate team, Junior Engineer Technical Society, Young Leaders and Drama Club. He has worked on the stage crew the last two years.
