Homeless man suspected in burglary

YOUNGSTOWN — After he was arrested, 40-year-old homeless man told police he was glad he had been caught burglarizing a house on Hudson Avenue on the city’s South Side because he “can’t make it on the outside and needs to go back to prison.”

When police responded to a call for help at 3 a.m. called in by a woman, they found Joseph McCall standing by the screen door of the woman’s house with the screen door open, and he appeared to be trying to force his way into the front door. McCall said he had just been released from prison and said, “I didn’t even rob the bank yet.” He was charged with burglary.
