Gunman threatens North Side couple

North Side couple accosted by gunman

YOUNGSTOWN — A Lora Avenue couple reported being approached outside their home by a man brandishing a gun.

The man, 54, told police the couple pulled into the driveway about 11:15 p.m. Friday after an evening out. He got out of the car and headed for his North Side house when a man wearing dark clothes emerged from the dark, ran up to him and stuck a gun into his chest, telling him to walk with him.

When the man’s wife, 41, got out of the car, the gunman pointed the weapon at her, instructing her not to move and ordered the man to walk with him. The husband and wife ran in different directions when a neighbor drove by and began to yell.

The couple heard a gunshot, and both called police from different neighbors’ homes.
