Warren man formally charged in shooting of firefighter

YOUNGSTOWN — A felonious assault warrant was issued today for Stefin Gantt, 20, of Garden Street, Warren.

Gantt is accused in the Wednesday afternoon shooting of off-duty firefighter Andre Johnson, 26, of North Fruit Street.

Gantt had been hospitalized at Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital for injuries he received at Johnson’s home, including missing part of his ear, and a gunshot wound to his forearm.

He was expected to be released from the hospital and arrested later today by police.
