Suspect charged in 2 robberies
BOARDMAN — Police arrested an East Midlothian Boulevard man, charging him with robbing two discount stores earlier this month.
Robert T. Perry, also known as Anthony T. Barnes, 37, was arrested Wednesday afternoon at the Mahoning County Jail, where he remains. He is charged with two counts of aggravated robbery.
Police charged Perry with the Nov. 1 aggravated robbery of Dollar General on East Midlothian and the Nov. 8 aggravated robbery of Family Dollar on Market Street.
Records show that Perry had been picked up on a bench warrant issued Nov. 1 when he failed to show up for sentencing on another robbery charge.
Perry had been charged with aggravated robbery in the May robbery of Family Dollar on South Avenue, also in Boardman.
He pleaded guilty in August to a reduced charge of robbery and was scheduled for sentencing Nov. 1, but he didn’t show up.
That’s the same day he’s accused of robbing the Dollar General. He’s now scheduled for sentencing next month on the May robbery charge.
He had been released in September after serving time on a 2004 robbery conviction from Franklin County, records show.
