Police arrest suspect in Pa. shootings

FARRELL, Pa. — Sharon and Southwest Mercer County Regional Police have arrested a man previously considered armed and dangerous.

Jaron “DeDe” West, 19, of Spearman Avenue, Farrell, was arrested just after 3 p.m. Thursday at a Baldwin Avenue address in Sharon.

West is being held in the Mercer County Jail on $250,000 bond. He is charged with attempted homicide, reckless endangering and aggravated assault.

West was wanted by police in the October shooting of three Warren residents. Police said there were nine people inside a Negley Street duplex when a physical fight broke out between West and another person.

Police would not comment on the subject of the argument, but said it was not drug-related.

Police said the three victims knew the resident but apparently did not know West before the shooting.

Derek Thresh, 18, of Warren was shot in the right lower leg. Raymond Harrison, 17, was shot once in the right upper shoulder and once inside the right upper arm. Kevin Daniels, 26, was shot three times, once in the left side of the chest, in the back and in his left arm.
