Officials seek help from business executives

WARREN — Help wanted: business executives willing to share their business knowledge with companies that might consider a move into the Mahoning Valley.

That’s the call for help being sent out by Trumbull County Commissioners Paul Heltzel and Frank Fuda.

Heltzel said one of the six subcommittees formed by the Trumbull County Planning Commission last month needs the help of business people. The subcommittees were formed in response to the announcements by local companies such as Indalex and Amweld that they were reducing or ceasing operations.

The Business Retention and Attraction subcommittee would like to offer “business-to-business” assistance to companies looking to locate in the area, but it needs more local business people to serve on the committee. Such a person would also be asked to talk directly to business executives, Heltzel said.

Such people might find it easier to talk to fellow business people than to government representatives, Heltzel noted.

To serve, contact Heltzel at (330) 675-2451 or the Planning Commission at (330) 675-2480.
