Turkey distribution set Thursday at Tabernacle Baptist

YOUNGSTOWN — Giant Eagle has donated 25 turkeys that will distributed by city police to North Side residents at 6 p.m. Thursday at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 707 Arlington St., for the We Stand Together Block Watch.

Winners will be selected through a random drawing. The giveaway is limited to block watch members.

The event was pulled together by the Youngstown North Side Weed and Seed in cooperation with Youngstown State University Center for Human Services Development, Giant Eagle and police.

The North Side Weed and Seed is completing the first year of a five-year grant. Weed and Seed strives to reduce violent and drug-related crime from target neighborhoods and improve residents’ overall quality of life.
