YOUNGSTOWN — The Gaither Vocal Band concert is bringing people to Youngstown by the busload — 36 busloads, in fact.

Bridget Wolsonovich, director of marketing at Chevrolet Centre, where Friday’s concert will be held, said the busloads are coming mostly from Pittsburgh and Akron. Twenty-six are from churches, eight are from Pittsburgh churches and two are from Pittsburgh nursing homes.

Many of the busloads have inquired about area restaurants where they can stop for dinner, said Wolsonovich.

Wolsonovich said that 75 to 80 percent of the sold-out crowd for the Gaither concert are coming from outside the Youngstown market. Gaither concerts in Cleveland and Pittsburgh sold out, she noted.
