Group extends grant-application deadline
YOUNGSTOWN —The Young Philanthropist Fund has extended its deadline for grant applications.
The Young Philanthropist Fund Board will review and award grants to any 501(c)(3) organization with a youth-oriented program in the Mahoning Valley with special consideration given to programs promoting the practice of philanthropy to youths.
The total disbursement to be given out will be $2,500.
For grant applications, visit the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley’s Web site at www.cfmv.org. Click on the grant tab, fill out the application and return it to the Foundation by Nov. 26. Indicate on the application that you are requesting funds from the Young Philanthropist Fund. Funds will be disbursed in March 2008.
The Young Philanthropist Fund was established in early 2006 with the goal of introducing the Valley’s younger generation to the role of philanthropy and to the efforts of nonprofit organizations so as to prepare the youth for their future role as the Valley’s philanthropists.
The Young Philanthropist Fund Board is made up of the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley staff, members of Youth Leadership, the 20/30 club, Youngstown State University and community leaders.
