One of the deaths occurred in a Warren drug house.
WARREN — A Niles man and a Warren Township man have been indicted on murder charges.
A Trumbull County grand jury indicted Howard W. Dorsey III, 19, of 4887 Anderson-Anthony Road, Leavittsburg, on charges of murder with a firearm specification, three counts of aggravated robbery with firearm specifications and three counts of kidnapping with firearm specifications.
He is accused of killing Tyrel N. Scarborough, 27, of Lane Drive in Warren, Tuesday at a house at 382 Freeman Street N.W. Scarborough’s body was found about 9:30 p.m.
If convicted, Dorsey could be sent to jail for 20 years to life on the murder charge and 12 to 60 years on the others.
His brother, Dominique L. Dorsey, 18, of the Anderson-Anthony Road address, was indicted on three counts of aggravated robbery with firearm specifications and three counts of kidnapping with firearm specifications in same incident.
Warren Detective Jeffrey Hoolihan said Scarborough was shot in the back of the head and neck while inside the house. Warren Councilman Al Novak has termed the Freeman residence a drug house.
Hoolihan said Dominique Dorsey stayed behind after the shooting and got the identification cards of three witnesses and ordered them at gunpoint to stay quiet about what happened. Police arrested him at the scene. Howard Dorsey was arrested a short time later in Akron.
In the Niles case, Michael McGrath, 30, of 69 Woodglen Ave., was indicted on a charge of aggravated murder in the death of his roommate, Ray M. Carroll, 28. Carroll was found dead of multiple stab wounds in the kitchen of the Woodglen Avenue residence Oct. 30. Niles police said Carroll had been dead for a while when they found his body.
If convicted, McGrath could be sent to prison for life with parole eligibility after 20 years.
McGrath and Dominique Dorsey are to be arraigned at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the courtroom of Judge Andrew Logan in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court. Howard Dorsey’s arraignment is set for 9 a.m. Thursday before Judge John M. Stuard. All are being held in Trumbull County Jail.
