Does it make sense?
Details on E85 fuel:
What is it? A blend of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline.
Price: Sheetz is charging $2.39 for a gallon of E85, compared with $3.09 for gasoline.
Advantages: Costs less than gasoline.
Disadvantages: Vehicles receive 20 percent less fuel economy using E85.
Using it: “Flex fuel” vehicles can operate on gasoline or E85. About 50 flex fuel models have been produced since 1998, though not all of them are still in production. A list is available at www.cleanfuelsohio.org/ffv.php.
