Youngstown Postal Service has new postmaster

YOUNGSTOWN — The local postal service has named former Warren postmaster Veronica A. Rice its head of operations.

A 32-year veteran of the postal service, Rice’s appointment as postmaster of the Youngstown Postal Service began Oct. 27. She will be officially installed as the department’s top-ranking official at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Youngstown City Council chambers, 26 S. Phelps St.

Rice began her postal career in 1975 as a window/distribution clerk in Cleveland. She is a graduate of David Myers University in Cleveland. She will oversee a work force of 324.
