Mercer County home destroyed by fire

SPRINGFIELD, Pa. — Fire destroyed a house in Springfield Township, Mercer County, Thursday afternoon, the Springfield fire department reported.

The department was dispatched to the home at 1671 Brent Road at 3:27 p.m.

The homeowner had just returned before the fire, the department said. There were no injuries.

The house was almost a total loss, the department said. The department does not know the cause, or where the fire started. The state fire marshal’s office is investigating.
