Jabali celebration at Kilcawley Center
YOUNGSTOWN — Jabali, an African cultural celebration, will be sponsored by the Africana studies program at Youngstown State University and held at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 7 at the Chestnut Room in Kilcawley Center.
Jabali, which means rock, will feature an authentic African dinner, entertainment by The Harambee Drummers of Youngstown, and the YSU African Students Union. A highlight of the event will be a talk on “Upward Bound As an Asset to YSU” by Sonja Williams.
Tickets for the evening are $25 per person and $10 for students. Tables for eight can be reserved for $175. For ticket reservations or information, contact the program at (330) 941-3097. African attire is appreciated but not required.
