Feds approve money for three projects in the valley
YOUNGSTOWN — A bill that includes $4.5 million for three Mahoning Valley project passed the U.S. House and is expected to be approved shortly by the Senate.
U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan of Niles, D-17th, placed the money in the Defense Appropriations Bill. The amounts for the three projects were reduced in the final bill.
A House-Senate conference committee made changes to the bill and recommended its passage. The House approved the bill today 400-15. The Senate was debating the bill late today with adoption expected shortly. It would then go to the president for his signature.
