Pact to be signed Thursday with new Chevy Center promoter

YOUNGSTOWN — The city’s board of control is expected to approve a $9,000-a-month deal Thursday with a Struthers concert and event promoter to run the Chevrolet Centre.

The interim management agreement would authorize Eric Ryan’s JAC Management Group to manage the city-owned center for at least four months. The contract includes four additional one-month options.

The city had paid $12,500 a month to Global Entertainment Corp. and the Phoenix-based company’s subsidiaries for the same responsibilities for the first two years of the center’s operations.

The city ended its association with Global on Oct. 31 because of its dissatisfaction with how the company ran the center.
