ST. LOUIS, Mo. — For the second time in three weeks, junior placekicker Brian Palmer was named the Gateway Football Conference’s Special Teams Player of the Week, the league announced on Sunday.
Palmer set a single-season school record by making 10 consecutive field goals after converting two attempts in the 40-7 win over Indiana State on Saturday.

This year, Palmer has made 13-of-14 field-goal tries and 30-of-32 extra points for a team-leading 69 points. In his career, Palmer has made 32 field goals and 119 point-after conversions for 215 points.
He was previously named Special Teams Player of the Week following the Penguins’ contest against Illinois State.
UNI senior quarterback Eric Sanders was selected as the Gateway’s Offensive Player of the Week while Southern Illinois’ James Cloud was chosen as the Defensive Player of the Week.
