Toys being collected for needy children

YOUNGSTOWN — For the second year, Home Savings is teaming up with the Big Reach Center of Hope, a Greenford Christian Church ministry, to collect new, unwrapped toys for needy children up to 18 years old.

Residents wishing to donate toys may drop them off at any Home Savings branch in the tri-county area through Nov. 17.

Founded in 2004, Big Reach Center of Hope provides resources and opportunities to help low-income and underserved individuals in the tri-county area. This past year, the center helped 20,713 children and adults with free groceries, household items, clothing and toys.

During the Christmas season, the center will distribute new toys, groceries, turkeys and gifts from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays and 5 to 8 p.m. Thursdays from Nov. 27 through Dec. 20. A photo ID, proof of income and residency will be required.
