mentally ill in U.S.
There are 560 inmates in the Mahoning County Jail, 15 percent of whom have mental health issues.
In Ohio prisons, 8,303 inmates are receiving mental health services, including 4,231 who are considered seriously mentally ill and are most likely receiving prescribed medication.
