Mahoning officials report smooth start to voting
YOUNGSTOWN — Mahoning County polling stations were also off to a smooth start before the noon hour.
Daniell O’Neill, clerk with the Mahoning County Board of Elections, said there were some early phone calls from polling stations concerning a few people who did not show up to work the polls and calls from voters asking where they should cast their vote, but nothing of major concern.
“No, there were no problems, no reported problems at all thank God,” she said.
According to O’Neill, the county received request for 6,827 absentee ballots. She said it will not be known until later how many of those absentee ballots have been returned.
The county received about 60 provisional ballots by late morning.
