Ex-lawmaker investigated

PITTSBURGH (AP) — A state grand jury is investigating a former state legislator from Erie on allegations that signatures on her election petitions had been forged.

The Pittsburgh-based grand jury is looking into the allegations regarding Linda Bebko-Jones’ papers.

Bebko-Jones is a Democrat who represented Erie and abruptly resigned after the signature scandal erupted. She represented Erie in the state House from 1993 to this year.
