Miami, Toledo gain triumphs in MAC games

OXFORD — Daniel Raudabaugh passed for two touchdowns and Cory Jones rushed for 125 yards as Miami (Ohio) held off Buffalo 31-28 Saturday.
Raudabaugh completed 20 of 26 passes and had TD strikes of 17 yards to Jones in the first quarter and 6 yards to Eugene Harris in the third. Running back Tommy Merriweather also rushed for two touchdowns for the RedHawks (5-5, 4-1 Mid-American).
Toledo 52, E. Michigan 28
TOLEDO — Jalen Parmele rushed for 168 yards and three touchdowns Saturday night as Toledo rolled to a 21-point first-half lead.
Parmele scored the Rockets’ first two touchdowns on runs of 31 yards in the first quarter and 29 yards in the second.
Eastern Michigan (3-7, 2-3 Mid-American) pulled within a touchdown on Pierre Walter’s 1-yard TD run in the second quarter, but Toledo quarterback Aaron Opelt found Stephen Williams for TD passes of 20 and 64 yards to give the Rockets (5-5, 3-3) a 28-7 lead at the half.
Each team scored two touchdowns in the third quarter and Toledo had a touchdown and a field goal in the final quarter to finish the scoring.
Opelt completed 17-of-29 passes for 276 yards with no interceptions.
Eastern Michigan’s Andy Schmitt and Kyle McMahon teamed up to complete 18-of-33 passes, but McMahon was intercepted twice. Walker rushed for 94 yards on 22 carries.
