Live video auction for limo has local tie

YOUNGSTOWN — A live video auction that begins at 8:30 p.m. today on eBay has a Youngstown connection, and will feature the limousine once owned by boxing promoter Don King.

The limo was used by King and former world heavyweight boxing champ Mike Tyson during their career together. The event is being run by getStrange Productions, a new company based in Youngstown.

The auction will end at 8:30 p.m. Nov. 11. The last hour of the auction will be live. The Youngstown company says this is the world’s first live video auction on eBay Motors.

“We are the pioneers, right here in the Mahoning Valley,” said Tim Sokoloff, owner of getStrange, on Saturday.

The last hour of the auction will be live and available to top bidders so they may hear the car run, take closer looks at the vehicle, and ask questions regarding the car direct to the current owner.
