Trumbull United Way goal hits $846,280
WARREN — United Way of Trumbull County campaign volunteers announced that $846,280 in pledges and contributions has been raised so far this year.
The report was given at a breakfast meeting Thursday of about 50 volunteers and community members at SCOPE Inc. of Trumbull County.
Fran Cunningham, an agent with William Zamarelli Realtors and campaign chairwoman, said that though contributions are being reported at an encouraging pace, many challenges still remain.
“We must continue to expand our giving base to include new campaigns and new contributors,” Cunningham said.
Cunningham said the goal is to raise more than last year’s contributions of $1,750,000.
Don Moore, vice president of MidWest Trumco Insurance Agency and chairman of the UWTC board of directors, said the United Way and its volunteers are striving to meet essential human service demands.
The countywide United Way appeal helps fund essential programs and services in five key focus areas: strengthening families, nurturing children, enriching the lives of seniors, promoting health and wellness and providing emergency services.
