Dinner to benefit Marine injured in Iraq


POLAND — The Student Social Work Association of Youngstown State University will have a benefit spaghetti dinner/basket raffle for Marine Corps Cpl. Jeremiah Hill, formerly of Struthers, who has twice been injured by improvised explosive devices in Iraq.

Hill is currently stationed at Camp Pendleton, Calif., where he is recovering from his latest injury that occurred in August. His first injury occurred July 14, 2006.

The dinner/raffle is from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Bethel Friends Church, 2771 Spitler Road, Poland. The cost of the dinner is $6 for adults and $3 for children age 3 and older. Children under 3 eat for free.

Hill, a 2004 graduate of Struthers High School, is married to the former Danielle Guzzo, of Youngstown. The couple has a daughter, Hannah Mackenzie. Hill is a son of Barbara and Rick Hill of Austintown.
