Tainted candy reported in Niles on Halloween night

NILES – Trick-or-treat resulted in one case of tainted candy during Halloween in the city Wednesday night.

A Scott Street woman reported to police about 8:45 p.m. that her son’s friend was trick-or-treating in her neighborhood. When he returned to her home, a utility knife blade was found in a Milky Way candy bar.

Police took the candy as evidence.

A check of Trumbull County police departments found no other similar reports.
