Man indicted in video game shooting

YOUNGSTOWN — The Mahoning County grand jury has indicted a Crandall Avenue man in Saturday’s fatal shooting of a Canfield man.

Allen K. Frost, 37, was indicted Thursday on a murder charge with a firearm specification in the shooting of Gregory Sopher, 18, of South Raccoon Road, who was found dead in Frost’s living room with a .38-caliber gunshot wound to his head.

Frost told police he and Sopher were “getting high” and got into a fight over “losing a video game.” Frost also told police he had to shoot Sopher to “protect me and my family.”

But Frost’s girlfriend told police she heard Sopher accuse Frost of stealing his money, heard a single gunshot, and saw Frost with the gun and Sopher on the floor bleeding.
