Cops will enforce environmental laws

WARREN – Trumbull County will have two police officers assigned to help the environment for at least two years beginning July 1.

Warren police Capt. Tim Bowers said the department was briefed on the new position for the city during a Thursday meeting with the Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste Management District which is funding the program.

Bowers said the city will assign an officer to the duty and Trumbull County Sheriff Thomas Altiere said he too will assign a deputy the first week in July.
