City cops arrest two for attempted robbery

YOUNGSTOWN — Two Youngstown residents are in the Mahoning County Jail facing felony charges after police say they tried to rob a Cash Advance store on Youngstown-Poland Road. Michael Faiola Jr., 23, of Lynn Avenue is charged with aggravated robbery. His girlfriend Julia V. Butler, 22, of Bears Den Road is facing complicity charges.

According to police reports, a store teller told officers someone tried to rob the store at gunpoint this afternoon. A witness saw Faiola running from the store and copied down his car’s license plate number. He was arrested at his home a short time later.

Reports say police found a BB gun and clothing believed to have been used in the robbery. Butler was arrested after witnesses told police that she drove the car after Faiola came out of the store.
