Maplewood defeated, 3-0, by Fairless

MASSILLON — The Maplewood High softball team’s unbeaten record and season came to an end all in the same game.

Wednesday at Genshaft Park, the Rockets lost to Fairless, 3-0, in the semifinals of the Division III regional softball tournament.

Fairless (21-8) scored a single run in the second inning and two more in the fourth, and Bre Willis held Maplewood (15-1) to three hits.

Maplewood pitcher Markie Pozzuto allowed five hits.

Fairless catcher Jamie Gromes had two RBIs.

The Falcons will play the winner of today’s other semifinal between Ursuline and Berkshire.
