Golf pros to play in charity event
HERMITAGE, Pa. — PGA Tour professional John Cook and three of the area’s leading golf pros, Adam Scott from Avalon Country Club at Squaw Creek in Vienna, Dan McMillen of Greenville Country Club, and Tom Roskos of Pine Lakes Golf Course, Hubbard, and the Long Driver Tour, will play in a charity golf event June 1 at Buhl Farm Golf Course, 1290 Forker Blvd.
The event is a benefit for The First Tee of Sharon, a national youth developmental program that teaches basic golf skills, as well the game’s values such as honesty, responsibility, sportsmanship and patience. The group is observing its 10th anniversary this year.
The four will play nine holes of golf, then sign autographs and demonstrate golf and trick shots during a clinic afterward.
Tickets are $10 each and are available at area golf courses or by calling (724) 962-9248 or (724) 962-1947. All ages are welcome. Ticket holders will also have the chance to win a seven-day pass to the U.S. Open at Oakmont Golf Course in Oakmont, Pa., June 11-17.
