YSU AWARD Pitcher of week

INDIANAPOLIS — Youngstown State junior Lucas Engle was named Horizon League pitcher of the week. Engle, a right-hander from Marysville, won his fourth game of the season May 18 against Cleveland State. Engle went 82⁄3 innings, allowing three runs (one earned) on six hits in a 7-3 victory. He struck out eight in the game and retired 14 batters in a row at one point. In his last four starts Engle is 1-1 with a 2.15 ERA. The Penguins play Wisconsin-Milwaukee in the first round of the Horizon League tournament Wednesday at 4 p.m.
