Wait causes anger followed by charges
WARREN –A 22-year-old Youngstown man has been charged after police reported he threw a chair through a hospital window because he believed he was waiting too long for medical treatment, police said today.
Geovanny D. Pastrana, of North Jackson Street, was charged Monday with assault and criminal damaging. A hearing was scheduled for June 15 in municipal court. He remains in the county jail in lieu of a $3,500 bond.
Police reported being called to Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital’s reception area. Pastrana, police were told, had become irate about having to wait for treatment. When told by a female hospital employee that he had to continue waiting, he went into a rage and threw the chair, smashing the glass in front of the employee.
The report does not say how long Pastrana had waited nor why he was seeking medical seeking treatment.
