Pet Center tops Boardman loop


T.W. Pet Centers was crowned Boardman Businessmen’s champion with members Steve Bayer Jr., Gary Ciavarella, Dick Evans Jr., Rich Evans, Gary Huff, Scott Lee and Dave Rudy Sr.

Mid-West Money Center was runner-up with Al Dohar, John Dohar, Mike Dohar, Tony Pesa and Ron Theis.

Prout Boiler finished third and Cat Racing fourth.

The Boardman Businessmen’s League, established at Boardman Lanes in 1962, is one of the oldest in the Youngstown Bowling Association.

The season was highlighted by Bill Artz’ 300 game. Other high actual games were registered by Floyd Barron (289), Dale Kushma (289), Dennis Hamm (289), Ricky Martin (287) and Rich Evans (280).

Evans edged out Artz for high average, 218.8 to 218.59.

Boardman Lanes co-proprietor Rich Wilson tossed the league’s high series of 751.

Hot, hot, hot!

DePizzo Hot Kielbasa beat DePizzo Sausage to win the DePizzo Sausage/Champion Men championship at West Side.

Bill Steiner, Ron Steiner, Joe Steiner, Guy DePizzo Jr., Kevin Vanoverbeke, Mark Jeswald and Gary Bretz are DePizzo Hot Kielbasa team members.

To reach the title match, DHK defeated Heather’s Sign & Art Work and DePizzo Sausage eliminated Blue Light Lounge.

At Amron, Dr. John’s Auto Clinic of Jack Kechler, Carl Cramer, Joe Wilkos and Jim Ellis won Wednesday Seniors, while BLGR of Bill Moxley, Larry Stevens, Gary Fugate and Ron Lesko was runnerup. Incidentially, the acronym must stand for Bill, Larry, Gary and Ron.

At Holiday, Fuzzy Toman Memorial champion Bar Mill comprised Kevin McFate, Don Melvin, Ryan Bierdeman, C.K. Mullins, Bob McFate and Nick DeMain.

Holiday Bowl Lounge won second half and league titles in Max Belchyk Classic with Deno Frazzini, Marco Laurenza, Harry Bukovinsky, Jeff Bertolette, Ron Jones and Al Torres.

Also at Holiday, Branch 260/Komara Jewelers won Jednota Mixed’s second half with Paul Ritz, Walter Soich, Barb Hosa and Bob Franko.

At Boardman, Mixers of Jim Ellis, Al Wilkes and Joe Wilkos won Donatelli Seniors, while Bierdeman Plumbing of Dennis Hamm, Paul Ludwig and Jim Buck was runner-up.

Ameristate Bancorp champ

Ameristate Bancorp won the Ron Haus Auto Classic championship at Camelot with Joe Cullen Sr., Joe Cullen Jr., Russ Anania, Chris Bletso, Bob Diamond and Dino Balkan. Hamilton Valve was runner-up.

Scattered Pins won Camelot Queens’ second-half crown.

Roll-off winners of Camelot Strikers were White Tigers of Justin Fotiuk, Corey Kilgore, Katie Viglio and Danny DiLoreto. Camelot Majors’ roll-off winner was the Pin Breakers of Chris Walla, Alec Higham, Matt Higham and Rickey Evans.

The Wedgewood Lanes team of Alice Flickinger, Gina Sanetrik and Sandra Podolsky won third 3rd in Wedgewood Ladies Trio.

Dad’s Money of Scott and Joey Lendak and Joe and James Munyon won the Boardman Juniors championship. Runner-up Strikers comprised Joey Mastrangelo, Brian Chismar, Sam Myers and Kevin Stein.

Dad’s Money won the third 3rd and Strikers were the wild card team. Destroyers won first 3rd and Anonymous won the second third.

Nicholas Gigax of Struthers recently became the youngest individual in this area to roll a perfect game, according to Youngstown USBC Youth Association manager Bobbi Sciarra.

Nick was 12 years and 10 months on April 1 when his 300 came during the Youngstown Junior USBC scholarship tournament at Bell-Wick Bowl.

FUNraiser

The Youngstown alumnae chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is sponsoring a “Friends and Family Bowling FUNraiser” at Camelot Lanes on May 27.
