DOG SHOW Memorial Weekend Classic

What: There will 134 breeds of dogs shown over the five-day Memorial Classic dog show. Three dog clubs are sponsoring shows throughout the weekend.

When: 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday through May 28.

Where: Lawrence County Farm Show Grounds, five miles east of New Castle on Pa. Route 108.

Who: Kennels playing host to the shows will be the Trumbull County Kennel Club on Thursday and May 27; Lawrence County Kennel Club on Friday and May 28 and the Butler County Kennel Club on Saturday.

The Dogs: There are 948 dogs registered for Thursday’s competition; 1,163 for Friday; 1,641 on Saturday; 1,531 on May 27; and 1,199 on May 28. There will be special breed competitions for Irish Setters, Scottish Terriers, Great Samoyeds, Pekingese and Kerry Blue Terriers.

Admission: Free. Parking is $2.
