Warren man hurt during home invasion

WARREN — An 81-year-old Warren man is in critical condition in the intensive care unit at Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital after two men assaulted him with a beer bottle at his home at around 2 a.m. today.

Willie Jones of fourth Street Southwest told police that two men between 18 and 21 years old knocked on his door, called him by name and asked to use the telephone.

Jones said he allowed the men inside and they struck him in the head with a beer bottle about three times, causing a cut. The suspects then fled without saying anything or taking anything from the home, Jones told police.
